Students shelter beneath desks after a lockdown was issued at 11:24 a.m. for Palo Alto High School. According to Assistant Principal Jerry Berkson, a similar lockdown occurred at Gunn two minutes before the order to lockdown at Paly. “We got a call from a violence hotline that informed us that someone had mentioned in a chat that they were going to commit violence at our school,” Berkson said.

Sophomore quarterback Justin Fung walks off the field in defeat after a 13-42 loss against Wilcox High School last Friday. According Fung, getting a win tonight will get that momentum right back for the Vikings. “There’s always going to be bumps in the road,” Fung said. “But what we gotta do is work together and get through it. Whatever happened last week happened. Now we’ve been focusing on our gameplan and have had a couple of great practices giving me confidence that we can execute come game day”

JEANC board member Rod Satterthwaite says that [[said]] Paly's facility is beyond fitting for this event. "You can be on high school campus and have access to state of the art buildings and facilities and have so many different classrooms and technological advancements in one place.[[,]]" Satterthwaite said.
