Palo Alto High School Dance Team members rehearse their new contemporary routine for the Spring Dance Show. The annual show will take place 7 p.m. on Friday in the Performing Arts Center. According to senior captain Rachel Ho, she was able to choreograph her own dance to finish off her time on the team. “I have my own piece that Im doing so Im really excited,” Ho said. “Its gonna be my last piece that I’m choreographing for this team, so Im sad because it’s going to be the end of an era, but it’s also going to be really fun.”

Palo Alto High School teachers participate in a walk-in last week by Churchill Avenue prior to Mondays announcement of a tentative agreement with the Palo Alto Unified School District. The event was one of the efforts by the union to raise awareness about the recent negotiations between the Palo Alto Educators Association and the district. There have been teachers at each site making some noise, getting people to honk their horns and rallying for kids, said Erin Angell, a PAEA site representative who helped to organize the event.

According to senior Burton Liu, the week is a great way to foster a stronger bond to the school and his classmates. “I think that [Senior Spirit Week] brings together the school community since you see your friends and classmates dressing up, and you can socialize,” Liu said.

The Vikings defeated the Mountain View High School Spartans, 9-8, after a rocky start in the first two innings. According to Viking head coach Peter Fukuhara, the Vikings have experience with climbing out of score deficits. “Our club is so deep into our season,” Fukuhara said. “We’ve played 24 or 25 games, and were pretty battle-tested by this point. Weve been down before, so we know what that feels like. Our team doesnt panic.”
