Librarian Sima Thomas takes a loaner Chromebook from the cart for a Palo Alto High School student. The library has a new loaner program to avoid losing Chromebooks. Were trying to maintain a stock of loaners, Thomas said. But its not a replacement for your own device.

Daniel Nguyen, a math teacher and site representative for the PAEA, shares Szeberts perspective. I think its important that teachers get paid, Nguyen said. The Palo Alto ice hockey team play at the San Jose State Universitys hockey rink. These athletes will be required to wear neck guards while on the rink when their season begins in winter of this year. I have two teammates that decided to wear neck guards towards the end of the season because a former NHL player died because of a cut to the neck, Weimann said.
