The Palo Alto High School orchestra plays in front of the Tower Building Thursday night at Back-to-School Night. The event draws a crowd of parents on the quad for the parent fair, and to classrooms to meet teachers. According to senior Nusaybah Mohsin, “It felt nostalgic to present something like this," Mohsin said. "It was one of the songs we played when we were freshmen and that was four years ago."

Palo Alto High School Junior James Park and Senior Lucas Yuan defends against Santa Teresa Saints midfielder. The fast-paced victory 4-0 win at home on Dec 6 continued the Viking's undefeated record. According to Paly Coach Luiz Lodino, "They're here before seven in the morning, before we start, because that's the time that we train."

Director Jeff Willner orchestrates all the Palo Alto High School and Greene Middle School bands performed on Nov. 21 in the Palo Alto High Schools Performing Arts Center. The Paly Greene concert has been going on for almost 30 years according to Willner. "We want all of you green shirts (Greene Middle school band students) to be up here next year," Willner said

Senior Tony Chung and junior Jerry Yan work together on a math problem after school in the Palo Alto High School library. According to math teacher and club advisor Randolph Mercado, after the competition the math team is now more motivated to improve. "The goal is to go to more competitions and do more math," Mercado said. "They're feeling good about it, but I think they're just happy to do math."

"It [Spirit Week] has been so fun," Ahn said. "I've loved seeing everyone dress up, I love taking pictures and it's a really nice break form all the stress."
