School board to discuss teacher raises

Palo Alto Unified School District’s School Board will meet to discuss teacher raises at 6:30 p.m. tonight in the boardroom of the School District Headquarters at 25 Churchill Avenue.

The Board will consider giving raises to some Palo Alto High School teachers. Superintendent Kevin Skelly is also being considered for a three percent raise for 2013-14.

Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources Scott Bowers will represent teachers and school staff at tonight’s meeting. Bowers will be advocating for a four percent raise and a one-time two percent bonus for teachers and staff based on their 2012-13 salary.

Final votes for teacher raises will most likely be held on Dec. 10, according to Palo Alto Online.
