Junior Audrey Guo completes AP US History homework in the library during her prep. Many students at Palo Alto High School take rigorous course loads, leading to large amounts of homework. This has led to the school district implementing new restrictions and guidelines for homework at the middle and high school levels, the effect of which is assessed in a new survey. “I think that the stigma surrounding college admissions — how you need to take so many competitive classes in order to get into a so-called “good college” — is really the thing that is causing all this stress and causing these policies to need to be implemented in the first place.” Xiang said.
