The Palo Alto High School varsity football team poses for a team photo after last Fridays win against Milpitas. Palys senior night game that was set to take place today at 7 p.m. was rescheduled to next week in the first round of the playoffs. The cancellation was caused due to a forfeit by Jefferson high school, but the junior varsity game will still take place. According to senior linebacker Luke Young, the Vikings morale is high for the upcoming tournament. We tried to keep a try to keep our spirits high even when we were losing, but it was hard to, Young said. Its definitely gotten a lot easier [after we won] and were really excited to see what we can do next week.

The Vikings set on the line of scrimmage in Fridays first home game of the season, against the Leland Chargers, who won 21-35. According to Head Coach David DeGeronimo, the Vikings loss can be attributed to the new team and coaching staff. Theres a lot of growing pains right now in terms of just having a new system, new coach, new style of football, DeGeronimo said.
