The Palo Alto High School girls’ volleyball team (7-1) is set to face King’s Academy (0-3) tomorrow at home.
This will be the fourth and last non-league match of the team’s scheduled season, not including tournaments, before they begin their league play on Sept. 24 against Los Gatos (also at home).
Last year Paly triumphed over King’s Academy, winning in three sets, even without home court advantage. The team hopes for a similar outcome at Tuesday night’s home game.
Senior setter Sarah Limb, who had to pull out of last Tuesday’s game against Presentation High School due to an ankle injury, is looking forward to the upcoming match.
“I think the team is well-prepared for the match because we have already played many teams within the past couple weeks through pre-season and tournament matches,” Limb said. “We are getting into a good rhythm.”
The varsity team has already been through one all-day tournament and three preseason matches this year, but there is still one month of scheduled play in addition to possible playoff matches this season.
“We’re still getting used to the new line-up and plays, but we’re working on the things we need to improve on in practice in preparation for upcoming matches,” Limb said.
The Paly vs. King’s Academy faceoff will take place at 6:45 p.m on Tuesday, Sept. 17, in the Paly gym.
