According to Theater Director Kathleen Woods, “The first two days of auditions people [can] sign up individually, in groups, or in pairs.”

Woods additionally added that no prior theater experience is required to be a part of the performance as there are various roles for people of different theatrical capabilites.

Auditions will begin at 3:30 p.m. and end at approximately 5:30 p.m.During auditions, students will perform prepared material such as monologues and scenes from “The Crucible.”

Prepared materials do not need to be memorized. Callbacks begin on Thursday, Aug. 30.“At that point, I will be looking at people in relationship to specific roles,”  Woods said.

Woods looks forward to the fall production.

“I’m really excited about working with the students on approaching the characterization and drama because its thick, rich and challenging acting material,” Woods said.

Woods expects attendance for the production to be higher than in previous years.

“I anticipate [the production will have a better audience turnout] because its a very big name show and a lot of students study it,” Woods said. “I am hoping that will enhance the attendance.”

People who don’t receive roles in the cast will have multiple options to participate through opportunities such as behind the scenes work, “Into the Woods” auditions and Improv Troupe auditions.

For more information, Woods will be available on Friday at lunch and after school.

“The Crucible” will be performed Sept. 2, 3, 8, 9 and 10 at the Haymarket Theater.
