As the anticipation for the upcoming elections in November grows, the contest between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump offers voters over the age of 18 a life-changing choice. The Paly Voice asked students how they view the race at this point.
“I’m on the Republican side, with former and future president Donald Trump. The prices were low when he was president. Everything from Takis to gas has increased in price. I’m not sure what economic policies he put into place, but they worked.” — Vagif Hasanov, 12th grade |
“Kamala Harris is my candidate. I appreciate the abortion rights policy of Kamala Harris.” — Felipe Gyllenram, 9th grade |
“I like her [Kamala] continuing Biden’s plan, you know, a domestic infrastructure and strengthening America from within.” — Jacob Kinsky, 12th grade |
“I turned the debate on, and the first thing I heard was Trump talking about how they’re eating pets in Springfield, Ohio. He didn’t have any evidence to back it up, so I was a little confused about that. But the problem is, people will believe in anything in the media. It’s safe to say I’m cheering for Kamala Harris, mainly because of [issues in] abortion.” – Sophie Williams, 12th grade |
