“This year, ASB is striving to have more events throughout the school year,” ASB President Jaiveer Sandhu said. “We want to engage all students on campus to make Paly a fun experience [and] we decided that hosting a ‘Quadchella’ would be a great way to achieve this goal.”
Activities on the Quad will include splatter paint, bubbles and face paint on all days, as well as musical performances by students. “There are many performers here and we would love to give them an opportunity to showcase their talent,” Sandhu said.
Six student performances will be held on the senior deck Wednesday through Friday; artists include seniors Gabe Cohen and Andrew Huang.
Huang will be performing with his friends senior Vijay Sharma on drums, senior Emily Tomz on vocals, junior Gill Wiessman on bass, and himself on guitar. “It’s pretty cool because we’ve always been looking for opportunities to perform so I saw this one [Quadchella] and decided to take it,” Huang said.
In addition, during lunch on Friday, students can get henna or temporary tattoos and tie dye their own shirts.
The week will be wrapped up by a tailgate outside the Peery Family Center from 5-6:45 p.m. on Friday before the varsity football game against Aragon High School at 7 p.m. Activities such as volleyball, frisbee and spike ball will be set up on the baseball field, and food will be available for purchase outside the gym.
“It’ll be a fun way for students to get together before the varsity [football] game and show our Viking spirit,” Sandhu said.
