Closed board meeting today to evaluate Diorio McGee and Wade

The work of three prominent Palo Alto Unified School District officials will be evaluate during a special closed board meeting this afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. at the district office on 25 Churchill avenue.

Supt. Max McGee, Paly Principal Kim Diorio, and Chief Student Services Officer Holly Wade, who also serves as the district’s Title IX coordinator will be facing evaluation according to the Palo Alto Unified School District website. The board will also discuss student discipline and confidential student information, according to the board’s agenda, to explore the district’s handling of a Paly student charged with sexual assault.

A major concern among both students and parents is the reporting of this incident. According to district policy, teachers are required to report allegations regarding sexual misconduct to the principal, then to the superintendent within a day of the incident being reported, and following that, to the district’s Title IX coordinator .

According to the district’s Uniform Complaint Procedure, a process for the investigation of misdemeanors, no such notification are on the logs for October 2016; the date the incident occurred as observed by Palo Alto online..

The possibility for changes in policy and administration is expected by many students. Anyone who wishes to address the trustees can do so at 4 p.m. before they go into closed session.
