The Palo Alto High School boys’ water polo team (22-5, 10-2) fell to Gunn High School (19-6, 12-0) 5-9 in the SCVAL Championships Saturday night at the Paly pool.

Senior captain Ethan Look gave props to Gunn’s strong play.

“Gunn was definitely the better team in the pool yesterday,” Look said. “They put away the shots they needed to and were solid on defense.”

The Vikings will next play Pioneer High School at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Paly pool in the first round of the Central Coast Section Playoffs.
