Palo Alto High School teachers and administrators are preparing for Back To School Night, which will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday.
Each period will last 10 minutes and allows parents to meet their student’s teachers and understand course curricula.
Parents should “bring their maps and their students’ schedules,” according to Dean of Students Craig Tuana.
Students from the Associated Student Body and Link Crew will be on the Quad to help parents navigate the campus. If parents forget their schedules, guidance counselors will be available to print students’ schedules.
Before first period, Principal Kim Diorio will deliver her welcome speech on the Quad.
Chemistry teacher Kelli Hagen provided some insight into how teachers plan for the night.
“As a parent, I try to say what I would want to hear,” Hagen said. “I talk about where to look for grades and how to keep the kids organized. I try to calm their fears.”
