For freshmen new to the Palo Alto Unified School District, the Palo Alto High School administration will host a luncheon during lunch on Friday, Oct. 12, in the English Resource Center.
Pizza will be provided, according to Freshman Guidance Counselor Susan Shultz.
Shultz added that Link Crew and the Associated Student Body will also attend to help students get more involved at Paly.
“It [the luncheon] is a cool thing,” Assistant Principal Kathleen Laurence said. “It’s a chance to meet with Link Crew and ASB.”
Shultz agreed with Laurence, saying that the administration wants new students to have the opportunity to connect with Link Crew and ASB because they can help new students get involved with athletics and clubs.
Schultz added that the administration has been hosting such luncheons for new students for the past three years.
The luncheon, which has traditionally been for students of all grades, was split into two this year, between freshmen and sophomores through seniors.
“Because we had 132 new students [freshman] this year new to the district or returning to the district, we split the event into separate events,” Shultz said.
