Congregation Beth Am of Los Altos Hills will host a memorial service in honor of deceased Class of 2011 Palo Alto High School graduate and congregation member Emily Benatar at 7 p.m., Saturday in its Sanctuary building, according to an email from the Beth Am Publisher.

The event will follow the Benatar family welcoming visitors into their Palo Alto home at various times throughout this week and last. 

Benatar passed away in St. Louis, Mo., last week from bacterial meningitus, according to multiple news sources.  Benatar was a freshman at Washington University in St. Louis.

Although still in mourning over her passing, Paly students, Washington University students and friends of Benatar continue to remember and share their experiences with her via posts to Benatar’s Facebook page praising her beauty, kindness and other personal qualities.
