Palo Alto High School’s Youth Community Service-Interact club will be delivering care grams on the last day of Not in Our Schools Week (Friday) to raise awareness and money for children in Africa.

“Care grams are a cheap and easy way to show your friends how much you care,” said Soo Song, YCS-Interact publicity and communications chair.

A ballon and candy bag costs $3 and candy bags alone cost $1. Care grams will be delivered during third period on Friday, April 20, according to Song.

As of Monday, YCS-Interact has improved the deal in hopes of selling more care grams.

“If people buy a $3 balloon gram, they will also get the candy gram and a note,” Song said. “For the $1r purchase, they will, as usual, get the candy gram and note.”

According to Song, the care grams will feature the gift, either a balloon and candy bag or just a candy bag, and one of four possible card templates.

“The money will go toward a fundraiser hosted by the Paly YCS-Interact district called International Project: Free the Youth, which will support education and food for children in Africa,” Song said. “We finish selling on Wednesday after school, but sales will go on during lunch and after school every day until then.”
