After a tough back-and-forth game, the Palo Alto High School girls’ lacrosse team (3-0-0) managed to overpower the St. Francis High School Lancers (2-1-0), 19-17, today at home.
The Vikings ended the first half leading 9-7, but soon fell to a 10-12 deficit. A four-point streak run brought them back into the lead, which they held for the rest of the game.
“I felt like everyone really stepped it up,” senior midfielder Kimmie Flather said. “Almost everyone scored, and our goalies had some really nice saves.”
The Vikings will play Pioneer High School 5:30 p.m. on Friday, March 23, at San Jose.
