In a game between the first and second ranked teams in the league, the Palo Alto Vikings lost to the Los Altos Eagles, 15-8, today.

The game started with a flurry of goals, as Los Altos took a 2-1 lead within the first minute.

The Eagles dominated the opening period and pulled away, ending the first period up, 6-1.

The Vikings were unable to catch up and were never within three goals of tying the game for the remaining three periods.

Sophomore driver Will Conner scored five goals. Freshman two-meter Nelson Perla-Ward added two goals and junior utility player Bret Pinsker had one for the Vikings.

The Eagles were league champions last year and defeated the Vikings on Sept. 28, 9-8.

The Vikings will play their next game against the Agoura High School Chargers at 1:40 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21, at Palo Alto High School.
