The Palo Alto High School Varsity Boys Water Polo team will begin its regular season, playing Los Gatos High School, on Monday at Los Gatos.

The Vikings, who made the semi-finals of Santa Clara Valley Athletic League (SCVAL) last year, beat Los Gatos, 9-6, during the opening game of the regular season .

The team is led by seinor goalkeeper Daniel Armitano and senior two-meter defenders Peter Rockhold and Aaron Zelinger.

Following last year’s losses at SCVAL and Central Coast Selection (CCS), the team has “a good chance for CSS this year” varsity coach Giovanni Napolitano said. “We’re really hoping to win SCVAL this year.”

The game will take place at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow, at Los Gatos.
