DeSean Jackson, a Pro Bowl wide receiver for the National Football League’s Philadelphia Eagles, will speak to Palo Alto High School students at 2 p.m. on Friday in the student center.
Jackson, who played high school football for Long Beach Polytechnic in southern California and college ball for the University of California at Berkeley, decided to visit Paly after hearing a speech given by Paly journalism and English teacher Esther Wojcicki earlier in the year. His visit will be open to all students, space permitting in the student center.
Wojcicki mentioned that Jackson was interested in seeing the school and its award-winning journalism program.
Jackson is scheduled to first talk with students in the student center before holding a question and answer session for journalism students after school ends.
Interestingly enough, Jackson actually visited Palo Alto in 2004, when he attended a NIKE training camp at Stanford University for high school football players. Of course, he has also played the Cardinal over the span of his college career.
