Foreign Policy will officially be back on the Palo Alto High School master class schedule for next year, according to Assistant Principal Kimberly Diorio.
The administration did not include Foreign Policy for the 2010-2011 school year because there was not sufficient student interest, according to Diorio.
“There is a 24-student minimum for year-long classes,” Diorio said, adding that Foreign Policy failed to meet that requirement this year.
For the 2011-2012 school year, Foreign Policy will be included in the schedule, and may even be offered for multiple class periods due to student popularity, according to Diorio.
Another revived class on next year’s schedule is AP Art History, which did not meet the student requirement this year. Women Writers, American Writers of Color, and Ethnic Studies, also not filled this year, will continue to be off the schedule next year due to lack of interest, Diorio said.
The fate of Geology and Environmental Science is still “questionable,” due to a lack of student interest, Diorio said, while AP Environmental Studies will continue as an AP course.
