The club will exhibit various photos, sketches, charcoals, watercolors and paintings created by Paly students and alumni in the library for two weeks, according to Gitterman.

“We [the Art Show Club] hope to give artists a chance to show their work and for others to be exposed to it because there are a lot of talented artists at Paly,” Gitterman said.

Through the exhibition, the Art Show Club also aims to promote its first art show in April, which will feature a broader range of artwork, said sophomore Co-President Francis Ge. The exact date and location is still undecided.

The Art Show Club intends to raise awareness for Drawbridge, a non-profit organization that provides arts programs for homeless youths, according to sophomore Co-President Julia Lee.

“When we [Ge and Lee] were first thinking of making this club, we wanted to support a specific cause, expanding what our club is about to the broader community,” Lee said. “Both of us have experience working with the kids, and we thought providing the otherwise vulnerable children with the opportunities to express themselves in arts and exploring it was something that we really wanted to support. This [art show] will hopefully lead to donations and other support towards what the organization does.”

According to sophomore Vice President Charu Srivastava, students can still submit their artwork by either emailing [email protected] with submissions or dropping artwork off at room 106.

“[We’re looking for] things that catch the eye and that are unique,” Srivastava said. “People shouldn’t be afraid to approach us with their artwork.”
