The Palo Alto High School library, English Resource Center and Social Studies Resource Center will be closed until May 14 due to Advanced Placement testing, but the administration will open other venues for students to study, according to librarian Rachel Kellerman.
“Mr. Berkson has agreed to open the student center [for students to study],” Rachel Kellerman said. “The SAO [Student Activities Office] will be open at brunch and lunch when possible.”
Additionally, students who need to use computers can use the CL-1 computer lab during brunch and lunch.
Kellerman is disappointed that the library must be closed for AP testing, and hopes that in the future Paly can change testing locations in order to keep the library open.
“I would like to look at other venues, such as the gym,” Kellerman said.
Administrative resignations and the bell schedule policy change prevented that change this year, according to Kellerman.
“We just didn’t have the capacity to deal with that this year,” Kellerman said.
Kellerman said that she is happy to supply students with books or online articles accessible through the library. She emphasized that students should email her at [email protected] if they have any such requests.
