Jake: Hi Paly, this is Jake Stern and Ben Lin of The Paly Voice, bringing you the latest news from the Paly campus for the week of March 1-5.
Ben: The boys’ basketball team lost to Archbishop Mitty High School by a score of 62-39 in the Central Coast Section semifinals on Tuesday at Foothill College.
Jake: Senior Jujhaar Singh qualified for the California High School Speech Association’s State Tournament in Lincoln-Douglas debate after a two-day long qualifying tournament over the weekend.
Ben: The Paly robotics team competes inits first regional robotics competition of the year in Portland, Ore., beginning on March 3.
Jake: The Science Olympiad Team is preparing to compete in the Olympiad Regional Tournament on March 6 after winning the Science Bowl over the weekend of Feb. 27-28.
Ben: Paly students are hosting a spring dance at Club Illusions this Friday from 7:30-11:30 p.m. Money raised from the dance will benefit Not in Our School week, working to end discrimination on campuses.
Jake: Paly 2006 graduate Jeremy Lin, two-time All-Ivy selection and currently a senior at Harvard University, concluded his basketball season with an offer to play in the Portsmouth Invitational in Portsmouth, VA.
Ben: A Midsummer Night’s Dream opens in Haymarket theater this Friday at 7:30 p.m. Performances are on March 5, 6, and 13 at 7:30 p.m. and March 14 at 2 p.m.
