School will remain in session in the aftermath of Wednesday’s power outage, Palo Alto Unified School District representatives say.
According to Kathleen Ruegsegger, administrative assistant to the superintendent, the city has offered a preliminary 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Wednesday window for getting power back on, prompting the district to hold off on canceling any classes. No schools were let out today, Ruegsegger said.
“We’re still waiting for word from the city,” said Ruegsegger.
Conditions at the district office remain normal.
“Some of our phones are down, and we’re running on a generator,” Ruegsegger said. “They’ve asked us to turn off the lights to keep the generator lasting longer. I’m sure if school is canceled, the superintendent has a way of getting the message out.”
Supt. Kevin Skelly was unavailable as he was out visiting affected schools.
