VoiceCast: Weekly Update (January 8, 2009)

Grace Donzelli and Maya Shemtov recap the week of Jan. 4-8. Below is a complete transcript of the above podcast.

Donzelli: Hi Paly, this is Grace Donzelli and Maya Shemtov of The Paly Voice, bringing you the latest news from the Paly campus for the week of Jan. 4-8.

Shemtov: Welcome back from winter break, Paly. This week, The varsity girls’ soccer team tied against Menlo in a pre-season game on Tuesday. The regular soccer season is just starting up, so stay tuned for more news on both boys’ and girls’ soccer.

Donzelli: On Wednesday, Paly students and staff mourned beloved history teacher, Arlene Camm, at a memorial service at Los Altos Christ Episcopal Church.

Shemtov: Classes were shaken on Thursday morning when a 4.1 magnitude earthquake hit the Bay Area. Some students and faculty mistook the earthquake for a train.

Donzelli: Winter Formal tickets have been on sale throughout this week. If you haven’t picked yours up yet, they’ll be available after school at the auditor’s office for $5 with an ASB card. Formal will be this Saturday at 7:30 p.m., in the big gym.

Shemtov: With all that dancing, don’t forget that finals are fast approaching. The second half of next week should be final exam study days. Finals will be the week after next.
