Palo Alto High School social studies teacher David Rapaport will conduct a phone interview with Democratic Congressman John Lewis of Georgia at lunch tomorrow.
Topics will include civil rights and President Obama’s leadership, according to Rapaport.
Lewis is “often called ‘one of the most courageous persons the Civil Rights Movement ever produced,'” according to his Web site, for his work as chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee and his participation in civil rights marches, among other things.
“He [Lewis] is the kind of guy I want Paly’s students to be exposed to,” Rapaport said, while setting up recording equipment for the event.
The discussion will take place in room 308. All students are invited to attend, Rapaport said.
