Shemtov: Hi Paly, this is Helena Raffel and Maya Shemtov of The Paly Voice, bringing you the latest news from the Paly campus for the week of Aug. 25-28.

Raffel: Congratulations on finishing your first week of the 2009- 2010 school year.

Shemtov: The school year began with a fire alarm on Tuesday morning at around 8:17 a.m.

Raffel: There was a rally at lunch today to encourage school spirit. The cheerleaders made their first appearance of the school year. Students participated in a hula hoop race. The senior girls and freshman boys won.

Shemtov: Administrators have taken action to prevent hazing of freshmen on Freshman Friday this year which traditionally occurs on the first Friday of the school year.

Raffel: Auditions for the fall play, Almost, Maine will be held in the theater after school on Sept. 1-3.
