Principal Jacqueline McEvoy says a mechanical malfunction caused the fire alarm to go off during this morning’s extended advisory.
According to Principal Jacqueline McEvoy, recent work in the woodshop triggered the alarm at about 8:17 a.m.
“We’ve instructed them to work after 3 p.m.,” McEvoy said.
According to senior Vedika Ahuja, the alarm was abnormally chaotic, as it was difficult to find teachers.
“It was complete chaos,” Ahuja said. “I couldn’t find her [my fourth period teacher].”
Additionally, students with preparatory periods were unsure of the procedure, senior Caroline Wang said.
“I have a prep,” Wang said. “I don’t know where to go.”
During fire alarms or drills, students should line up with their fourth period classes on the football field, according to McEvoy.
