Cally: Hi, I’m Cally Berg.
Karl: And I’m Karl Gillespie, and we’re reporting for the Paly Voice on Field Day, which took place on May 22nd, 2009.
Cally: There were a variety of activities to do. There was a bounce house, a rock climbing wall, an obstacle course, a mechanical surfboard and a slide.
Karl: A ton of Paly students turned out for the event, snacking on the free food, doing the activities and just generally enjoying the beautiful weather.
Cally: According to senior Tess Bellomo, the mechanical surfboard was a lot of fun.
Bellomo: It was scary, it gets a little crazy after a while. Uh, I thought I did pretty well, for the amount that it was shaking, I’m not going to lie.
Karl: Meanwhile, other Paly students were off enjoying the obstacle course.
Karl: What did you think of the obstacle course?
Stephen Lim: It was so much fun. It was incredible.
Karl: Was it better than some of the other things you’ve done today?
Lim: Oh, definitely. The best thing, right here.
Student 1: This is great. Popsicles, chips, we’re running the slide, and we’re just enjoying the beautiful weather.
Student 1: This obstacle course looks delectable. I hope to…manifest it soon.
Student 2: No, he’s not going to win. I’ve got the technique.
Student 3: The nuclear power.
Student 4: The washboard abs.
Student 5: The raw animal magnetism.
Cally: Other Paly Students found the food and the slide much more interesting.
Student 1: So far, I really like it, but I just started riding the rides. The food is amazing, and I love that they have vegetarian options, and this is my favorite ride, definitely.
Cally: The slide?
Student 1: The slide is always the best, yeah.
Karl: Do you think you’re going to go on any of the others?
Student 1: If I can get to the front of the line, they’re usually way too long.
Student 2: Um, I think it’s really fun, like, I think it’s a good way to, like, get the the whole school together and, like, have a lot of fun and just, like, relax.
Student 1: Yeah, and, like, the music is really cool and everybody’s, like, all together.
Student 2: We’re just starting out.
Student 1: Yeah, we’re going to go rock climb.
Cally: So, what’s your favorite one, because you’ve probably been on all of these before.
Student 2: Yeah, I like the slide.
Student 1: Yeah, me too. It was really fun.
Cally: Thank you for listening, and again, I’m Cally Berg.
Karl: And I’m Karl Gillespie, for the Paly Voice.
