Bastidas: Hi Paly, this is Anna Bastidas and I’m back with Vienna Tran of The Paly Voice to bring you the latest news from the Paly campus for the week of April 6 to April 9 in our weekly update. We’re stopping a day short in order to accommodate the three day weekend this week.
Tran: Viking, Paly’s sports magazine, came out on Monday. Don’t forget to pick up your copy or check out the stories online on The Paly Voice.
Bastidas: This week is the One Dollar for Life fundraiser. Make sure to donate in the boxes that have been placed in each classroom. Remember, everything counts.
Tran: On Monday, students were welcomed back with a special schedule to incorporate an emergency drill during fourth period.
Bastidas: In sports news, junior Kelley Jenks led the softball team to a 9-2 victory over Los Altos on Monday, leaving them undefeated in their division. The team also steamrolled over Gunn on Wednesday, leaving the field with a 10-0 victory that ended after the fifth inning with a mercy ruling.
Tran: Also, last Friday, the varsity lacrosse team beat Woodside, 12-2, bringing their overall record to 8-1. On Tuesday, the team beat Notre Dame, 13-3. Varsity plays Harker at 4 p.m. today. And don’t forget to come support the team next Friday in their game against Gunn!
