Upon arrival at school this morning, Paly students received an unexpected surprise: trees all over the campus were covered in toilet paper.
Only one day after Paly was approved by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, the quad was vandalized by copious amounts of toilet paper stuck on the trees, hundreds of plastic forks stuck into the ground, and a garbage can tossed into a tree.
According to Assistant Principal Jerry Berkson, the vandalism most likely took place sometime after 10:30 p.m. last night.
“This prank was a juvenile and immature act that puts a burden onto our custodians.” Berkson said. “It isn’t creative, and it’s an insult to the people who work hard cleaning our school everyday.”
The administration still does not know who the pranksters were, but Berkson has confidence that administrators will know soon.
“Instead of doing something like this, it is well advised to come see me or another administrator to ask if a prank is okay,” Berkson said. “We’ll say if you can do it or not, and if there will be legal or monetary consequences for doing it.”
