Red Cross clubs to hold fundraiser

Local Red Cross clubs will be hosting a fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Chevy’s in Mountain View.

Twenty-five percent of the sales made during the event will go to the Youth Services program at the Silicon Valley Red Cross chapter.

In addition, students attending the event can earn half an hour of community service for every person that they bring, including themselves, according to senior Tim Qin, Paly Red Cross club president .

The Youth Services program is currently very low on funds, according to Qin.

“Everyone who spends time asking a friend or a family number or even a stranger to attend the event is spending time raising money for the Red Cross,” Qin said. “That is definitely community service; the Red Cross serves everyone.”

However, this donation will only be made if students present the waiter with a flier.

Fliers can be printed off of the Facebook group here.

According to Qin, fliers are also available through Paly’s Red Cross club adviser Letitia Burton.

The Red Cross clubs at Paly, Gunn High School, Mountain View High School, Castilleja School, Los Altos High School and Menlo School are co-hosting the event. The flyer for the event can be viewed at http://s2.largeimagehost.com/HL/ecttUcQ/Red+Cross+Flyer+copy.jpg.
