Paly’s first Sadie Hawkins dance in many years has been postponed one day from Feb. 29 to March 1 as a result of scheduled conflicts that would prevent many students from attending.
Five sporting events, including swimming and diving, wrestling, baseball, tennis and golf, will take place on Feb. 29, the original date for the dance. The following morning, March 1, also presents a conflict for many juniors since the SAT’s are scheduled for that day.
“We decided to change it because it was affecting too many people,” said student activities director Allison Davies-Mullins.
According to Davies-Mullins, even though the new date is only one day after the original date, it allows people to be more relaxed and to better enjoy themselves.
In addition to changing the date of the dance, ASB has also decided to host Sadies at Paly, according to student body president Mohammed Abid.
