A pine tree in Paly’s north parking lot fell down this afternoon, blocking the main driveway from Embarcadero Road.
The tree is estimated to have fallen between 1:30 and 1:45 p.m., according to Campus Supervisor Scott Reese. No injuries or damage to people or cars have been reported, Reese said.
“It’s always grown at a forty-five degree angle,” Reese said. “With all the weight on the top of it, it’s just a matter of time [for its fall].
Bret Larson, who works for the Palo Alto Unified School District Landscaping Department, estimates the tree to be about 50 to 60 years old.
A truck arrived at about 2:30 p.m. to segment and dispose of the tree to clear up traffic.
