ASB Vice President candidate Morgan Pichinson makes plans for the future

As the current junior class representative and a member of the cheerleading squad, junior Morgan Pichinson already knows a lot about Paly spirit. Her interest in the school is what prompted her to run for 2nd semester ASB vice president.

"I really care about [Paly] and want the best for my school," Pichinson said. "I really want to make a difference. I think I would make a great ASB vice president."

Pichinson has a background in leadership and spirit organizations at Paly. During her sophomore year, she was a 4th period representative for her math class. She was then elected the junior class representative, and is now heading the ASB poster committee. Pichinson has also been a Paly cheerleader for three years and a mainstay at spirit rallies and athletic games.

"I love being a cheerleader and helping out with things such as dances and spirit week," Pichinson said. "I like to think of myself as a very spirited person."

Although she is already involved in Paly activities, Pichinson believes that she can make a bigger difference in ASB as the vice president.

"Overall, I think this year’s ASB has done a very good job in making a difference at Paly. However, there are always little things that can be changed, like student body participation." said Pichinson.

Pichinson’s plans for her campaign revolve around student involvment. She believes that the student body should have more of a say in student government decision-making and be able to initiate change themselves.

" I want to hear more of the students’ ideas," said Pichinson. " I will try to get more people to go to the Monday ASB meetings and I will meet with clubs at lunch to get their opinions."

Pichinson’s level of enthusiasm for Paly is apparent in how she speaks about the school.

"I love Paly’s diversity and the amount of spirit," she said.

According to Pichinson, she will make an excellent ASB vice president.

"I am very committed, organized, and hard working," she said. "I feel like I can contribute a lot to the school through my strong background in leadership. If elected, I will do the best I can."
