Spring Fling barbeque approaches Paly

The Paly PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association) will host a Spring Fling barbeque for students, staff and faculty along the poolside of Paly’s new swimming pool, Monday.

According to PTSA Hospitality Chair Sunny Dykwel, the barbeque will be held to thank the Paly community for their suport this year, the many volunteers and the Accel Foundation for the new pool.

“We wanted to make sure we thank the volunteers,” Dykwel said. “It’s a great way to thank the Paly community.”

In addition to a barbeque dinner by the pool, PAUSD (Palo Alto Unified School District) Superintendent Mary Callan will deliver a district update. Also, Paly Assistant Principal Chuck Merritt will deliver a Paly update.

Unlike other Paly events that serve dinner, such as the back-to-school dinner at the beginning of the school year, the Spring Fling barbeque is free.

According to Dykwel, the event will be catered by Bangkok Thai Cuisine. There will be meat and vegetarian dishes served, including Thai barbeque chicken, tofu, green beans and green salad.

“This is bringing families together from Paly,” Dykwel said.

The Spring Fling barbeque will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 24 at the Paly pool.
