Palo Alto police officers are patrolling the area surrounding the 3100 block of Waverly, after a possible mountain lion sighting was reported this morning. According to a memo written by Carloyn Benfield for the Paly link, "the schools in that area have been notified and have contacted their respective communities." The police conducted a "thorough search" and found no evidence of a mountain lion in the area, according to information released by the PAUSD. As a precaution, "the schools are being extra cautious during P. E. and playground time," Benfield said. According to the announcement, "there is no cause for alarm."
