Field Day coming Friday

Paly’s annual Field Day will be held this Friday on the quad. Five minutes will be cut from each class period to make time for an extended lunch from 11:15 a.m. to 12:35 p.m.

According to activities director Joann Vaars, there will be a free barbeque lunch for each student who wishes to eat on campus, along with many familiar activities such as jousting, an inflatable obstacle slide, and sumo wrestling.

"I’m really looking forward to the sumo wrestling this year," freshman Alec Schmarzo said. "I have heard about it before, but have never done it."

Some of the new activities that Paly students and teachers can participate in include bungee basketball, and, for a fee, students can take a throw at the dunking tank where some of Paly’s bravest teachers will be awaiting their soaking fate.

"I’m sure the teachers will have fun with the dunking tank," senior Jeremy Gillan said. "I just hope that we get to pick which teachers we dunk."

Sophomore Rachel Freier-Miller and study skills teacher Kris Brockmann set up the dunking booth in order to raise money for future Camp Anytown participants.
