The long-awaited “Paly’s Got Talent” show will take place from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday in the Palo Alto High School Performing Arts Center.
According to Student Activities Director Matthew Hall, the talent show will feature a variety of student and teacher performances, in addition to other activities.
“We’re going from 7 p.m.-9 p.m., [with] intermission, a silent auction, then the show,” Hall said. “I have six teacher acts, including an all-teacher band, plus juggling, dance, singing, martial arts, ukulele [and] hula.”
This is not the first year this event is running, according to Hall.
“Many years ago there was a show called Viking Variety show — over time, it kind of died off,” Hall said. “ASB had talked about reintroducing it this year.”
According to Hall, proceeds will go to RISE Together Education, a program that works to improve college graduation rates by providing mentoring and financial support to low-income Paly students and graduates.
“RISE together is a nonprofit organization that helps pay for the college experience for Paly seniors,” Hall said. “Our goal is to put these two things together: the Viking Variety Talent Show and this fundraiser for RISE together so that graduating Paly seniors will have the money for college.”
Tickets can be purchased for $10 at the door.
