With seniors and juniors off to a quick start, The Palo Alto High School Associated Student Body will continue Spirit Week with “Salad Dressing” day on Tuesday.
Freshmen will dress as “Healthy Choice,” sophomores will dress as “Ranch,” juniors will dress as “Thousand Island,” and seniors will dress as “Caesar.”
In addition to dressing up, students from each grade will participate in a lunch-time rally.
“We only have one game during lunch tomorrow — tug of war, which is my favorite game,” Senior Class President Noga Hurwitz said.
“I’m super excited because I love the visibility from the bleachers and the crowd gets really into it,” ASB President Jaiveer Sandhu said. “Also the breaks between games allow for more cheers and music, so I’m expecting the students to really enjoy the lunch rally.”
The tug-of-war game consists of three match-ups of approximately 20 students from each grade. However, football players cannot participate as ASB fears that this may create an unfair advantage for certain teams.
“Not having football players isn’t ideal but I’m looking forward to seeing how all of the classes bounce back from that,” Hurwitz said.
“Salad Dressing” day follows “Theme” day, in which the seniors were victorious. Scores can be found here.
Spirit Commissioner Sarah Mitz anticipates more fun in the following days of Spirit Week.
“Throughout the week we will have games that include a lot more participants from each grade which was our original goal,” Mitz said.
“Today was an awesome launch to Spirit Week and it was really exciting to see all of the grades come together,” Hurwitz said. “Day two is going to be fire.”
