The annual Palo Alto High School Service Day, organized by the Youth Community Service Interact Club, will provide students with a range of local volunteering opportunities on March 24.
Students who participate in Service Day are excused from class for the whole day and are able to earn community service hours for their work.
According to junior YCS co-president Ibby Day, Service Day is meant to engage students in meaningful service projects.
“We strive to make people consider the impact they have on the community,” Day said. “The areas of service range from working with kids, helping the environment, helping senior citizens, sorting food for food banks and working at the Palo Alto Art Center.”
Information on each of the off-campus volunteering sites, according to sophomore YCS general board manager Mailinh Truong, can be found below. Bring your own lunch unless specifically noted otherwise.
