The Palo Alto High School boys’ lacrosse team (2-3, 0-3) emphatically beat crosstown rival Gunn High School (3-3, 0-0) by a score of 11-3 Friday night at a packed El Camino Field.
The Vikings, who have yet to win a league game, raced into a 6-1 lead early on, which eventually proved insurmountable for the opposing Titans. Junior attacker Matthew Seligson contributed four goals and senior midfielder Zach Levitan scored three to help secure the non-league win. With recent losses in mind, Seligson appreciates the way the team played this game.
“I’m happier that we were able to put up a lot of points as an offense collectively,” Seligson said. “We haven’t had a win in a while, so it definitely means a lot to us.”
The Vikings next play Saratoga High School 7 p.m. this coming Wednesday at home.
