Helena Raffel: Hi Paly, this is Helena Raffel and Maya of The Paly Voice, bringing you the headlines from the Paly campus for the week of Nov. 9-13.
Maya Shemtov: Paly’s first Mix It Up Day was this Tuesday, Nov. 10, on the quad. Kids went out and participated in field games to encourage new friendships.
Raffel: The Palo Alto girls’ water polo team defeated visiting Salinas High School, 14-5, in the first round of the Central Coast Section Championship tournament at home on Wednesday, Nov. 11.
Shemtov: Paly’s fall play, Almost, Maine , opened last weekend and there will be performances this weekend on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Due to the black box arrangement, seating is limited. Tickets are $7 for students and $10 for adults.
Raffel: The Friends of Lurdes Mutola Foundation held a fundraiser to benefit the education of girls in Mozambique at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12. The foundation was founded by Gabriel Fossati-Bellani and Campanile adviser Esther Wojcicki.
