The Palo Alto High School Media Arts Center will be filled with hundreds of students for the Journalism Education Association of Northern California’s annual NorCal Media Day on Saturday. Jami Lim, editor-in-chief of Monta Vista High School's El Estoque, said that the event will inspire students to pursue different aspects of journalism. “NorCal Media Day encourages students to go deeper into journalism and empowers them to pursue various topics that they might not have felt confident or knowledgeable enough to do before,” Lim said.

Junior Maraleis Sinton, a journalist for Verde magazine, helps teach NorCal Media Day attendees the basics of photography. "Working it was an interesting experience because I had to put my thought processes into words, which I wasn't used to since many of the aspects I take into account when taking photos is second nature," Sinton said.
