Former U.S. Secretary of Energy Stephen Chu spoke to Palo Alto High School parents and students in the Palo Alto High School Media Arts Center during the first installment of the "Great Minds at Campus" speaker series Wednesday night.
The Palo Alto girls' soccer team (15-2,9-2) shut out Homestead High School (6-8-3, 2-6-3) by a score of 8-0 while celebrating on its senior night. The team had six graduating seniors who were honored after the game.
The Palo Alto Teen Arts Council hosted its first Poetry Jam at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 16 at the Palo Alto Children’s Theatre. Many Palo Alto High School students performed original poetry, shared published works and read song lyrics to an audience of teenagers in the spirit of expression and acceptance.
The Palo Alto High School Vikings (15-8, 1-5) fell to the Mountain View High School Spartans (15-8, 3-3) in five sets, 21-25, 25-18, 21-25, 25-16 and 7-15. They will face Los Altos High School at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday on the road.
