The Class of 2018 celebrates college decision day, gives advice to incoming seniors

    Palo Alto High School's Class of 2018 participated in the tradition of wearing their future college shirts to celebrate selecting their future colleges on Tuesday, which was the deadline for commitment for most schools. Five seniors spoke to the Paly Voice about their decisions and gave advice to the Class of 2019, who will be applying to college in the fall. Click on the slideshow to see what they said.

    School prepares for March 14 walkout

    Students across the country and within the Palo Alto Unified School District are planning to participate in a national walkout on Wednesday. Scheduled at 10 a.m for 17 minutes — one minute for each person who died in last month's Parkland school shooting — the walkout will be in support of stricter gun control and school safety measures.

    Fire alarm raises safety concerns

    Yet another fire alarm occurred during fifth period on Wednesday at Palo Alto High School, raising concerns about school safety among Paly students in the wake of the Parkland school shooting on Feb. 14, where the shooter allegedly drew students out of class by pulling a fire alarm.

    Scenes from the Women’s March

    The second annual Women's March took place on Saturday, where people across the country gathered to march in support of women's rights. An estimated 100,000 people marched in San Francisco, where The Paly Voice talked to women and allies about why they chose to march.

    B squad captain on the benefits of golf

    During her first Paly golf game as a freshman, senior Lauren Wagner topped the golf ball. Rolling only a couple feet, Wagner's thoughts were quickly clouded by the thought of her intimidating sophomore teammates and new coach. As she began sweating, she told herself that she was going to have to calm down. In fact, up until Wagner's sophomore year, she felt nervous in front of the rest of her team.
