Paly’s Link Crew will host a “Cocoa and Cram” session for freshmen after school on Wednesday in front of the library and in the English Resource Center.
“The most important part is that the freshmen learn something and Link Crew gets more publicity in the Paly community,” junior Link Leader Brandon Nguyen said.
Link Crew will provide hot chocolate and snacks provided in front of the library for freshmen who attend the event. Link Crew tutors will help freshmen study for their first finals at Paly.
“I hope that all the freshmen who come receive some help studying and can jump start their first finals week off right,” Nguyen said. “I hope that the hot chocolate and treats will bring more freshmen to this event.”
In addition to tutoring, Link Leaders will present a PowerPoint presentation on how to study for finals in the ERC.
Some freshman teachers will hold “open classroom” sessions during the study session, for students who would like extra help, according to Nguyen. The event will end at 5 p.m.
“In Link Crew’s first year, we have made the student body more aware of us,” Nguyen said. “We have not changed the Paly community as a whole, but I believe we have helped individual students make their transition better. I hope Link Crew can positively change Paly in the future.”
In addition to recruiting more Link Leaders for future years, Link Crew will be planning an end-of-year event, according to Nguyen.
