A fire alarm went off at lunch yesterday when someone pulled an alarm switch in the east entrance of the small gym, according to head custodian Hok Ky.

Students abandoned their lunch activities when the false alarm sounded, and went to the football field.

Sounding a false alarm is a misdemeanor under California Penal Code Section 148.4, and is punishable by either one year in prison or a $1,000 fine, or both.
